How do I take a ferry with multi-manning?
With multi-manning, taking a ferry follows special rules:
⚠️ CRITICAL: The multi-manning 9-hour rest CANNOT be taken with a ferry interruption!
PRACTICAL SOLUTION
If BOTH drivers have a sleeper ticket:
- You must take an 11-hour rest (not 9!)
- The rest starts together (both drivers at the same time)
- Both cards stay in the tachograph (slot 1 + slot 2)
- Ferry button: “START” → rest (🛏) → “END”
- Max 2 interruptions, max 1 hour in total
If there is NO sleeper ticket (or only one driver has one):
- The ferry time is availability for both drivers
- You take the 9-hour rest after driving off the ferry
- Ferry button: “TRIP START” → availability (▭) → “TRIP END”
TIME CALCULATION
The 30-hour window still applies:
- With an 11-hour rest: max 19 hours from start of work (30−11=19)
- With a 9-hour rest: max 21 hours from start of work (30−9=21)
